Dalbeattie Woods

Find all the information you need about walks and activities in Dalbeattie Woods and nearby venues on Scotland's Forestry and Land website. Parking requires the Ringo app for its £1 fee. Join us from 11am, to explore the exquisite gardens, and choose a relaxing spot in our Walled Garden, whilst enjoying a leisurely lunch over a feast of music.

At 1pm, Blackbird Opera will present an hour-long concert of music, joined by four guest soloists, the singers will take you on an exciting journey through the wondrous world of opera.

Featuring well-known arias, duets and ensembles from much-loved operas by Bizet, Puccini, Verdi, Mozart and more, there is no better way to introduce opera to all the family.

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Galloway Hills, with plenty of time to walk around the gardens, enjoy catching up with friends whilst indulging in a slice of artisan pizza from our wood-fired pizza oven in the Walled Garden, or bring a picnic to share with family. Tea, coffee and ice cream also available – please be sure to book in advance.

We will have cover available in the event of rain, but please come prepared with something warm and waterproof, as well as picnic blankets and chairs (only if you need one). No dogs please.

Join us for a guided tour of the impressive Castle Gardens with Head Gardener, Robbie Black, who has been at Drumlanrig for over 25 years. Discover different areas of the Garden, the show stopping seasonal plants in bloom, get top tips for your own garden and have an opportunity to ask questions to our resident gardening expert.

Please note the walks will cover various terrain from grass, gravel, and historic stairs.
