Set in an elevated position, this smaller Scandinavian self-catering holiday lodge ideal for a couple, partly overlooks our own loch and offers stunning views from the main deck to the Galloway woods opposite and directly across to the hilly Colvend Golf Club and just a short walk to Sandyhills beach.
Like Owl Lodge and Kestrel Lodge, our Red Kite Lodge is dog-friendly and can accommodate up to two well-behaved dogs, but we would politely request that they be kept off the sofas & beds

If you require more than 16hrs of heating, then an extra £95 will be charged, payable on arrival.
Lodge Layout (ideal for a couple)
Cosy Red Kite Lodge has level access into the entrance hall with a shoe storage cupboard. A downstairs double bedroom sits to the right (extra storage drawer left in the divan base) with wardrobe and solid oak bedside tables with lamps.
Opposite the bedroom via the hallway is a large light and airy bathroom with a walk-in electric shower, toilet and fitted wash-hand basin unit with drawers, illuminated LED mirror with built-in demister, shaver socket and Karndean flooring.
The hallway has a glazed door through to the open plan kitchen/dining area which has a round dining table and four chairs. There is also a two-seater leather settee, TV stand with TV, DVD player, XBox with games, Bose CD radio and doors onto the full-width deck with patio table and chairs.
The kitchen has just about everything you will need including professional knives, chopping boards, electronic scales, hand blender and a full range of cutlery, crockery, glassware, pans, utensils, 5-ring gas stove with electric fan oven, microwave, separate larder fridge and freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and a DeLonghi Nescafe Dolce Gusto Melody 3 automatic coffee machine and Karndean flooring.
A carpeted open-tread staircase leads up to the
upstairs lounge which has full-width patio doors out onto the
upper deck. It includes a three-seater leather settee and armchair, TV stand and TV with Amazon Prime, Blue-ray DVD player with DVDs, solid oak nest of tables, Bluetooth speaker and lamp, a well-stocked bookcase and games. There is a door from the rear of the lounge to the
upstairs super king bedroom with a zip-and-link bed offering you a choice of deep-sprung twin beds or a super king divan, a wardrobe, dressing table and solid oak bedside units with lamps.

Galloway Lodges - Accessibility
We strive to enable everyone to enjoy holidays in our Lodges at Barend. The layout of all our lodges is different as is their size, but we hope the information below helps you to make your choice. All Lodges have all amenities downstairs, meaning there is no need for guests to climb any stairs. You are always welcome to email or ring us for further information.
Red Kite Lodge – Sleeps 2 to 4 people (ideal for a couple)
· Two-storey property with a longer loose-stoned approach down to the front door (30” wide) entrance, with a small step over into the hallway.
· Double bedroom (door 25” wide) to the right.
· To the left is a shower room (door 27” wide) with toilet, sink and walk-in shower (door 18” wide) with a small step.
· Further down the hallway, a door (27.5” wide) opens into an open-plan small sitting room with dining area and kitchen.
· A patio door (27” wide) leads from the lounge onto a balcony. From this small sitting area, there are open-tread stairs that lead to a larger lounge.
· Off this lounge is a further super-king bedroom.
